IG's MESSAGE

This Institution, before its up gradation to STC BSF was functioning as BTC BSF Hazaribagh. The BTC was raised on 18th Nov 1966 at PTC (Police Training Centre, Hazaribagh) with four Coys, as an integral part of TC&S Hazaribagh. Subsequently, it was shifted from PTC Hazaribagh to Meru, Hazaribagh on 25th Mar 1967 and was further upgraded to STC BSF Hazaribagh w.e.f. 01 Dec 2011 as a separate entity.

It is indeed a matter of great honor and privilege for me to command Subsidiary Training Centre (STC), Hazaribagh which is mandated to impart Basic Training to newly recruited Constables and Sub-Inspectors (Direct Entry). In order to mold these youth from civilian to a mentally & physically robust soldiers to protect the sanctity of International borders of Western and Eastern theatre and also maintaining law and order situation especially in insurgents infested States they are being imparted training under well trained and potential group of Instructors. Being a well reputed institution, STC BSF Hazaribagh is entrusted with the additional responsibility to conduct Counter Insurgency & Commando Courses for Other Ranks, Pre Induction Training for NSG, other professional courses for in-service personnel of various units/ HQrs. Over and above, this Institution is empowered to impart basic training and crash courses to other State and Central Forces like IRB Haryana, Jharkhand Police, Rajasthan Police, RPF, BMP and CISF. As a confidence building measure, this Institution conducts foreign course (Border Management Course) for BSF and BGB to enhance co-operation between the two border guarding forces.
